Family Groups

We run two family groups – One at the Ark, in Dover and one in St.George’s Hall in Deal. 

The Dover Groups runs on a Friday morning and the Deal Group runs on a Thursday morning from 9.30 am to 11.30 am. We are shut for the half term breaks and for the Easter and Christmas Bank Holidays.

Who is it for?

The groups are for children who are struggling with their emotions, behaviour or language and communication.  At the groups we aim to encourage your children to achieve the following:

• Have improved access to a social network and the opportunity to improve their social skills by integrating with other children at the group

  Have improved self-confidence and wellbeing by attending the group by being in a safe environment with other children, staff and volunteers.

  Have improved opportunities to work towards their own developmental goals by accessing the activities and specialist play equipment at the group.

If you have at least one child under the age of five, feel stressed and live in the Dover/Deal area you will be welcome.

Most weekly informal sessions take the following format:

09.30 – Table-Top and Floor Activities
10.30 – Healthy snack for the children
11.00 – Either a craft activitiy or Group Singing
11.30 – Tidy Away
